Crash on M6 motorway causes two lanes to close near Wigan

Two lanes on the M6 were closed following a collision near Wigan.

Police were at the scene of a crash which occurred on the M6 northbound near junction 26 (Orrell Interchange) at around 2.50pm today (October 1).

Two out of three lanes were closed as a result of the crash, which reportedly involved a van and a car, resulting in delays of up to 30 minutes.

Average speeds on approach to the incident were reportedly less than 10mph, but Highways England have now confirmed all lanes have reopened.
