Tributes after man dies suddenly at home

Tributes have been paid to a man who died suddenly at his Wigan home.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to an address on Woodhouse Lane at around 5.35pm on Saturday.

They found a 54-year-old man had died. There were no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer will be notified of the death.

Police described the incident as “sad and unfortunate”.

A resident who saw the police activity at the house expressed sadness at what had happened in a post on Facebook.

Daryl Ravden wrote: “What an absolute shame and a horrible thing to see, worst thing is knowing he died alone just hoping he didnt suffer. R.I.P fella you’re in safe hands now.”

Mr Ravden also suggested the man was a popular figure in the local community but had not been seen for a few weeks. GMP did not give any details about the man.
