Earlier this year, the Government set up a £200m Coronavirus Community Support Fund to help support smaller local charities secure funding through the Covid-19 pandemic.

The funding recognises the work of these charities, which in the case of borough group Everything Human Rights, involves them helping ethnic minorities with life in Britain..

Crossroads in Tyldesley would usually arrange regular day trips and weekends away, as well as providing regular coffee mornings, so people can come and have a chat, make new friends or get some help.

While The Pelican Centre has facilities including a full size historic swimming pool, well equipped air conditioned gym and community hall which would in usual times be open to the public.

Meanwhile The Leigh Building Preservation Trust (LBPT) runs the Leigh Spinners Mill, and Higher Folds Community Centre and Nursery, in Leigh educates, provides activities and supports families and people of all ages.
