Borough man fined for visiting friend's house to have a brew
Golborne and Lowton Neighbourhood police said the fine was issued to the man on Friday night (November 6) for breaking the lockdown restrictions.

Hide AdOfficers said the man made matters worse and tried to lie about why he was at his friend's other than to have a cup of tea.
Under current measures, nobody can go to another person's address unless for certain exemptions such as child care or their support bubble.
In a Facebook post, police said: "As a follow on from yesterdays post reminding you we are currently in Lockdown 2.0 as they say and under Government restrictions, a fixed penalty was issued to a male who decided he was going to see his mate and have a brew with him, and to make matters worse he tried to lie about why he was there."

Separately, police said there had been several instances of theft from and of vehicles across Lowton and Golborne. Officers warned people to be vigilant and make sure vehicles are locked and any equpment or valuables kept out of site.
