Champion Wigan hotel now in the hunt for Euro-excellence honours

The Holiday Inn Express at Martland Park last year was named the best hotel in the company across the UK and has now been shortlisted at the prestigious Europe Star Awards.

It is up against big guns in both the commercial and best customer service in Europe categories.

All will be revealed at a glittering ceremony in Edinburgh on March 26.

Stephen McManamon, who turned the former Wigan Post buildings into the hotel three years ago, said: “We are delighted with these shortlistings,” adding that 35,000 guests stayed there last year and 38,000 are expected for 2020 now Haigh Hall and the Bellingham have closed.
