Firefighters called to car alight on Wigan street

A car was badly damaged when a fire broke out this morning.

Firefighters were called to Hazel Avenue in Atherton at 6am on Thursday when a member of the public spotted the Hyundai was well alight.

Crews from Atherton put out the fire, which caused serious damage to the rear of the vehicle.

The cause of the fire is not known.
