New Lidl store proposed for Woodhouse Lane in Wigan
The discount retailer plans to build the supermarket on land to the south of Woodhouse Lane.
The food store would extend to 1,882 sq ft internal area with a net sales of 1,175 sq ft, while it would have 80 parking spaces and a dedicated in-store bakery.
Jobs would also be created within the new store.

Hide AdLidl bosses hope a planning application they have submitted will be received and validated by Wigan Council by the end of July.
The store would lie on a site which is bound by Woodhouse Lane to the north, Whitworth Way to the west and to the east and south by the new Canalside residential development. The land is currently undeveloped.
The site will feature an attractive glazed frontage and a large car parking area with high quality landscaping. Access to the site will be from Whitworth Way.
Proposed opening hours for the store would be Monday to Saturday between 8am and 10pm and Sundays and Bank Holidays would be 10am to 4pm.

Hide AdNormally there would also be one delivery to the store per day and store waste will be collected by the delivery vehice to minimise HGV movements within the site.
