Two men detained by immigration officers in Wigan after car wash raids

A neighbourhood policing team and immigration officers swooped on the car washes in Springfield recently.

Police said they made the visits after receiving intelligence about “illegal immigration and other concerns.”

They said they subsequently detained the two males.

In a post on GMP Wigan West’s Facebook page, they said: “Neighbourhood Officers from Wigan and Immigration Officers made visits to two Car washes in Springfield as a result of intelligence in regards illegal immigration and other concerns.

“Two males were detained by immigration officers.”
