Woman, 66, seriously injured after hit and run

A 66-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after a hit and run in Upholland.

The incident happened at around 1:30pm on Saturday, February 8, in the car park of Hall Green near to the junction roundabout .

The pensioner was hit by a car that is possibly green in colour, with the driver of the vehicle leaving the scene before providing their details, police said.

It is believed a male witness stopped at the scene and made a remark that he had seen the vehicle registration.

Police said that no report has been received from either the driver or potential witness.

The woman remained in hospital for several days where she was being treated for serious injuries.

PC Damian Whittle of Lancashire’s Tactical Operations Division, said: “A woman has suffered serious injuries and our thoughts are with her at this time.

“We need the driver of the vehicle involved to get in touch so we can establish exactly what happened.

“Likewise, if you are the witness mentioned above or have any information that could help, we need to hear from you.”
