Woman seriously injured in road smash - arrest made
A motorist has been arrested after a woman was knocked down and seriously injured in a road smash in Wigan.
Police were called shortly after 10pm last night (Thursday) to reports of an incident on Beech Hill Avenue, Beech Hill, and found that a 20-year-old had been in collision with a car.
The victim had suffered a broken leg in the impact which took place on a pelican crossing. She was taken to hospital but her injuries are not said to be life-threatening.
Police arrested a 59-year-old on suspicion of dangerous driving and investigations are ongoing.
