Lancashire M6 closed northbound after serious crash this morning

The M6 in Lancashire was closed northbound after a serious crash this morning (Wednesday, November 17).

The crash at around 4.10am closed the motorway for four hours whilst emergency services worked at the scene between junctions 33 (Galgate, Lancaster South, A6) and 34 (Heysham, Morecambe).

North West Ambulance Service said one casualty has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire & Rescue and National Highways also sent units to the scene.

The motorway reopened after recovery and clean-up work was completed at 8am.

Lancashire Police has been approached for further details on the casualty.
