Here's when Black Friday 2020 deals launch - including bargains from Amazon and Argos
This year, Black Friday takes place on Friday 27 November.
But in 2020, some retailers are launching sales even earlier than usual - as early as a month before the big day – after suffering a difficult year of trading amid the ongoing pandemic.
With shops forced to close for several months this year due to Covid-19, many people will have curbed their spending habits, but it’s hoped Black Friday deals can inject some money back into the struggling sector.
Here are the dates when some of the major retailers are expected to kick off their Black Friday sales this year, and some of the deals that could be up for grabs.
Amazon’s Black Friday began on 26 October, over a month ahead of the big day.
Discounts are being applied to products across a range of categories, including toys, beauty and Amazon's popular own-brand devices – the sale is expected to last until Black Friday itself on 27 November.
Amazon will be launching hundreds of 'Deals of the Day', as well as limited 'Lightning Deals' that are only available while stocks last; Prime members get 30 minutes early access to these.
In addition to the products featured in the sale, Amazon is also offering three months of its premium Music Unlimited service to new customers for free.

The beauty retailer has launched its Black Friday sales early, with deals available from 4 November online and in stores.
The exclusive deals will run until 1 December, the day after Cyber Monday, and customers will be able to take advantage of savings of up to 60 per cent off beauty and make up items.

While the popular high-street jeweller has announced it will be launching deals every week throughout November, this has sadly only been confirmed for shoppers in North America thus far.
The retailer's website says Black Friday deals are “coming soon” in the UK, and shoppers are advised to sign up to Pandora's mailing list and follow their social channels to stay up to date.
When its deals do go live, perhaps we will see savings on Pandora items in line with last year's offerings: the company took 20 per cent off everything online and in store for UK shoppers.

The start date for Halfords’ Black Friday deals has not yet been clarified by the retailer just yet, and while its website makes it apparent Black Friday begins on 27 November, rumours have been suggesting savings could begin as soon as 17 November.
Whenever Halfords’ Black Friday offers do land, shoppers can expect discounts on in-car technology, tools, car cleaning products, and scooters.
In 2019, shoppers could bag discounts of up to 20 per cent, including price cuts on a Mini Cooper convertible ride-on car, reduced from £99 to £55.

Last year, Currys were another retailer to get ahead of the Black Friday curve, offering ‘Why Wait’ deals on consoles, TVs and smartphones ahead of the big day itself.
It certainly looks like the retailer could be gearing up for a similar plan of action this year, with its Black Friday sale advice page already live, but with nothing confirmed as yet, it’s just a case of waiting and seeing.
With lockdown measures in place across much of the country, it looks as though Currys is shifting focus to a deliveries-only Black Friday, urging customers to download its app to beat the queues.
While the official Black Friday sales won’t start until later this month, Currys has revealed a number of price cuts ahead of the big day.
Several 'Kickstart your Christmas' deals are available now, along with deals and discounts on headphones, Tassimo Coffee Machines and Shark Vacuums, among others.

Popular among parents in the run-up to Christmas, Black Friday sales at the toy store are expected to begin on 20 November, although this is still to be confirmed.
Ahead of the main event, the toy shop is offering a pre-Black Friday Clearance Sale, which includes savings of up to 85 per cent.
In last year’s Black Friday sales, the store offered discounts of up to 80 per cent.

Sales are expected to start on 27 November, on the official day of Black Friday, but Argos has already started its toy sale, which runs all through November.
Last year’s sale included big price cuts to a range of major brands, including Apple and Dyson, with various tech products reduced by as much as £100.

Sales at Next are expected to start on Black Friday itself, on 27 November, although an earlier date could be announced closer to the time.
In previous years, eager shoppers have queued outside the store from 6am to bag the best deals, with last year’s event seeing cuts of up to 70 per cent on clothes.
