This is a real grudge match as Liverpool have twice come second to Manchester City in the Premier League in the past decade so the atmosphere at Anfield will be electric
Anfield will be buzzing for Liverpool FC’s game against Manchester City, accused of breaking financial rules in order to dominate the Premier League, and it’s not too late to get official tickets for those who know where to look.
Manchester City’s match against Liverpool this Sunday is likely to provide the kind of charged atmosphere rarely experienced, even at Anfield.
It is the first game for City following the shock news that the club was found guilty of having breached 114 of 115 of the Premier League’s financial rules it was accused of breaking. The club denies any wrongdoing.
Liverpool fans at Anfield are likely to have a field day, their team being one of the clubs that may have missed out on trophies over the period Manchester City allegedly ran roughshod over financial rules in order to buy up many of the world’s best footballers and win multiple Premier League titles.
The bad news is that standard tickets to the game are hard to come by. The good news is that there are still a few VIP and hospitality packages available via Seat Unique. Although they are not cheap, it is not necessary to have the immense wealth of an oil-rich Gulf state to buy one but fans need to act fast. It will also be live on Sky Sports so now could be a good time to subscribe.
At the time of writing, the premium ticketing site has eight Village package hospitality seats left for the grudge match that kicks off at 4.30pm on Sunday, October 11.

For £399, fans get a seat in the Kenny Dalglish Stand, one night’s accommodation in a 3* hotel, a two-course buffet, a free drink and plenty of extras besides. You can find out more here.
The hospitality suite opens three hours before kick-off and closes an hour after the final whistle. It is 300 metres from Anfield so fans can enjoy the electric atmosphere on their way to the historic ground with tens of thousands of other supporters.
The Brodies package is similar but a bit pricier at £449 per person but has premium padded seating in the New Anfield Road Stand, behind the goal. What it also offers over and above The Village package is the chance to meet a Liverpool FC legend and access to The Brodies Lounge, inside the ground.
There is no booking fee for either of these packages, which, to be honest, makes a refreshing change. Find out more here.
Let’s not forget that Liverpool have twice come second to Manchester City in the Premier League in the past decade, missing out on the title by just one point in 2018-19 and 2021-22.
It means The Reds and their fans have a right to be disgruntled about Manchester City’s financial conduct and there’s clearly a score to settle.
For those whose budgets do not stretch to VIP or hospitality tickets, the match will be live on Sky Sports. To sign up, a Sky package including Sky Sports with Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix currently costs £35 a month here on a 24-month contract.
For Sky customers looking to upgrade, Sky Sports, including Premier League, F1 and Sky Sports+, costs £24 a month and requires a new 24-month Sky TV contract. Find out more here.
