Wigan Athletic boss Paul Cook admits he's got his '˜first real selection headache of the season' ahead of this weekend's trip to Preston, with a virtual full-strength squad to choose from.

And he couldn’t be happier about the situation, with Latics hoping to move back up into the Championship play-off places with a positive result.

Captain Sam Morsy has been passed fit after missing the midweek draw against Swansea with a slight hamstring strain.

And Dan Burn is also available for the first time this campaign after recovering from a broken foot sustained in the final pre-season friendly at Rangers in July.

“We’re all fit and available,” Cook reported.

“There’s only Gavin Massey, who’s out long term, who won’t be up for selection.

“Sam Morsy needed that little break, and it was important he got that in midweek.

“Dan Burn’s back in the squad, Will Grigg’s fully fit after injury.

“It’s my first real selection headache of the season, and a lot of thought will be going into the selection.”

Grigg is expected to replace ex-Preston frontman Joe Garner up top, while Cook must decide whether to play Morsy as well as, or instead of either, Lee Evans and Darron Gibson in the engine room.
