The Latics Under-18s make the short trip to Old Trafford for a massive FA Youth Cup quarter-final tie.

It’s the furthest Latics have ever got in the prestigious competition, and underlines the fantastic work being done in the Academy under Gregor Rioch and his team of coaches.

“It’s been a fantastic week for the club on the whole,” acknowledged Cook, who has overseen first-team victories over Millwall and Reading in the last few days.

“For our young lads to be able to go to Old Trafford and play a game of competitive football against Manchester United is amazing. I know we’ll take great support there, I’ll be there, and we’ll all be backing the boys on what should be a great night for the club.

“For Gregor, for Peter (Murphy), for Nick (Chadwick), for Kenny (Williams), for the Academy...these opportunities don’t come along every day.

"And when they do come around, you’ve got to do your best to grasp it.”

The game kicks-off at 7pm, and admission – and car parking – is free to all supporters.
