Latics have been down to the bare bones for some time now, with acting manager Leam Richardson only able to name four subs - and no back-up goalkeeper - for the recent clash at Rochdale.

The situation was exacerbated with forward Kyle Joseph joining midfielder Harry McHugh on the injured list - with Latics seemingly unable to bring in any more players.

But after appealing to the governing body, Latics were given the green light to add two more players - and they promptly arrived on Monday evening in the former of Jamie Proctor and Viv Solomon-Otabor.

"Latics have been able to acquire the services of Viv Solomon-Otabor following special dispensation from the EFL, with striker Kyle Joseph and midfielder Harry McHugh expected to miss a number of weeks with their respective injuries," confirmed the club in a statement.
