Ex-Wigan Athletic and Bayern Munich man switches clubs to save World Cup dream
Former Wigan Athletic defender Liam Morrison believes his loan move from QPR to Aberdeen gives him a fighting chance of forcing his way into the Scotland squad for this summer's World Cup.
The 22-year-old has joined the Pittodrie club until the end of the season after being restricted to just 12 appearances for parent club QPR in the first half of the campaign.

Morrison represented Scotland all the way up to under-21 level and is hopeful that his switch to the Premiership can help him catch the eye of national team boss Steve Clarke.
"I just want to play a lot of games and try and give myself the best chance of... obviously there's a World Cup at the end of the year," he said.
"Not to say I'm going to get there, but I want to give myself the best chance to get there.
"As a kid, the dream is always to play for Scotland or play at a World Cup especially and now we're going to a World Cup, so all Scottish players will be desperate to get there.
"I just had to go somewhere where I can play games and try and impress everyone and show what I can do so it gives me the best opportunity to get there.
"As long as you're playing and doing well, you never know what's going to happen. Someone could pull out and you get drafted in or you do well enough to be drafted in straight away anyway so you just always have to be ready and just doing your best."
Morrison joined Bayern Munich's academy when he was 16 in 2021 before returning to the UK with QPR in 2024 following a season-long loan at Wigan under Shaun Maloney in 2023/24.
He was the first signing of the Mike Danson era, coming just days after the club changed hands after two years of Phoenix 2021 Ltd being in charge.
Morrison made 35 appearances in a Latics shirt, and scored a couple of goals, complementing the likes of Charlie Hughes and Jason Kerr at the heart of the defence.
