Ashton Athletic have made a rip-roaring start to the 2026/27 – after securing a kit sponsorship deal with local charity Joseph’s Goal.

The Brocstedes Park outfit’s smart new shirts will help to raise awareness of the rare genetic disorder NKH, from which Joseph – Latics’ lucky mascot at the 2023 FA Cup final – suffers.

And the partnership is already reaping rewards for Athletic, who followed up Saturday’s 2-0 home win over AFC Blackpool with a 3-0 victory over Uppermill on Tuesday night to maintain their 100 per cent start.
