Hendry potted by Shrews

Wigan Athletic defender Jack Hendry has joined fellow League One side Shrewsbury on loan for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old, who joined Latics last summer from Partick Thistle, has made only three appearances this term - all in the JPT.

And boss Gary Caldwell admits the chance for him to go out and pick up valuable first-team experience was too good to turn down.

“This is a great chance for Jack to get some regular game time and first-team football, giving him the opportunity to progress at a very competitive level,” said the Latics chief.

Hendry could make his debut this Friday against Port Vale.
