As was the case following the 2019/20 season, where around 1,400 players were thought to have been left without a club, there are set to be a plethora of individuals available this summer.
That means clubs such as Wigan Athletic could well be eyeing up potential free agents as they look to bolster their squad over the coming months.

Hundreds of players are currently set to depart third tier sides come the end of the season, although many are yet to open contract talks with discussions shelved until the campaign is finished.
