Players of both Latics and Huddersfield are expected to 'take the knee' ahead of this weekend's clash at the John Smith's Stadium in a show of solidarity.

And the Latics boss says he'll be right behind efforts to kick racism and discrimination out of the game.

"I'm fully supportive of the 'Black Lives Matter' movement - always have been, always will be," he said.

"There's no place for racism in sport, just as there's no place for it in life.

"Life's too short...and black lives matter just as much as any other.

"All the solidarity and support we can give, we will, and it should be backed to the hilt."
