Up the ‘Tics!

Live blog: Wigan Athletic v Cambridge United

Latics now playing three centre-backs, Darikwa and Pearce at wing back, Power and Naylor in midfield...ie the team that started the last three apart from Pearce for Bennett...

Double change for Latics at the break, Jason Kerr and Tom Pearce for Gwion Edwards and Graeme Shinnie...

...Latics were 2-0 down at Cambridge in November (the day after the Charlie Wyke collapse) and drew 2-2 (also had a late ‘winner’ disallowed)...and yes, I’m clutching...

HT Latics 0 Cambridge 2.

Neither side following the script here...Cambridge, with nothing to play for, have been excellent...Latics, promotion within touching distance, have been as bad as they’ve been all season. Big 15 mins coming up for Leam and his staff.

Oh wow Harvey Knibbs wrestles his way through and then, from bang in front, slices the ball wide. He’s claiming he was being fouled. If not, it was a horrible miss.

Goal 2-0 Cambridge, absolutely cracking header from Sam Smith. Latics in trouble here.

Edwards plays in Darikwa, flag goes up as he shoots, goalie saves anyway.

Adam May tries his luck from 25 yards, and it needs a very good save from Ben Amos to keep it out.

Hopefully that will act as a wake-up call for Latics, who haven’t managed to get going as yet. Cambridge have looked dangerous too, certainly not on the beach despite mid-table.

Goal 1-0 Cambridge, Harvey Knibbs from the edge of the box.
