Meet the Wigan Athletic fan - whose video clip has rocked the EFL!

That was before he became a central figure in the video clip involving EFL chief Rick Parry which has since gone viral.

And which will now be investigated by the club's recently-appointed administrators!

Parry is heard apparently discussing jaw-dropping betting claims about the club's former owner.

“There’s rumours that there’s a bet on them in the Philippines on them being relegated," Parry is heard saying. "The previous owner has got gambling interests in the Philippines.”

After being verified as genuine by the EFL, Gerald Krasner of insolvency practitioner Begbies Traynor, David spoke to us for the inside story!

"I only live in a small village, and I knew Rick Parry lived a few doors down from me," he said.

"Obviously with everything going on, I thought there was no-one in a better position to ask him what was happening.

"I initially went round on Wednesday, but his wife told me to come back on Thursday, because he was at Preston for their game in the evening.

"So I came back, and it was then he came out with the rumour about the betting.

"Now I'm on Twitter 24/7, and I hadn't heard anything about this, so that got me interested.

"As I hadn't heard anything I thought I'd put the clip out there and see if anyone else had heard anything and it's gone on from there.

"I honestly had no idea any of this was going to happen.

"I started off by asking about the fit and proper tests for owners, and it just came from there.

"Rick was very pleasant and respectful towards me and answered all the questions I asked him.

"I just think this situation is scandalous -I genuinely think we have something here we’ve never seen before in football.

"And I hope Wigan Athletic appeal the point deduction and the EFL accept the appeal, because fans shouldn’t be punished for what owners do."

But will he be popping round to Chez Parry this weekend for another chat?

"I'm not entirely sure he'll want to see me again," David added. "I might lie low for a few days."
