He joins the League One side for an undisclosed fee, after making 12 first team Latics appearances.

Latics boss Gary Caldwell said: “Lee has been with the club for a long time so it was a difficult decision to allow him to leave.

“However, Lee requires regular game time at this stage of his career and that’s something we couldn’t guarantee.

“To move to a club like MK Dons and to challenge for promotion from League One is a great opportunity for Lee and we wish him all the best in the future.”
