Three parties in formal discussions to buy Wigan Athletic - Admins
Wigan Athletic's administrators have revealed three parties have already opened formal discussions with regards buying the club.
The future of the club was thrown into doubt on Tuesday morning when the Spanish bidders dropped out of the process - more than three months after having their offer accepted by the admins.
But already a trio of interested parties have come forward and expressed an interest in saving the club.
"Over the past 24 hours, we have made contact with 23 parties who have shown interest in the club over the past six months," read a statement from the admins.
"We are pleased to confirm we have already entered into formal discussions with three parties with regards to the potential sale of the club.
"We will continue to provide the relevant information to the respective parties with the hope of achieving a successful outcome in the coming weeks.
"We will provide a further update to staff and supporters as events unfold."
