Two more added to Wigan Athletic injury list

Latics picked up another point on Saturday thanks to the 0-0 draw with play-off chasing Ipswich at the DW.

But for the one more step forward on the pitch, there were two steps back off the field with Scott Wootton and Jamie Proctor ruled out of the game.

While on-loan Rotherham forward Proctor's groin problem is not thought to be serious, on-loan Plymouth defender Wootton's spell with Latics could be over after landing awkwardly during last weekend's defeat at Accrington.

"Scott Wootton looks like he'll be out for the season," mused Richardson.

"Jamie Proctor has also been feeling his groin, and he'll continue to be monitored daily.

"It's disappointing to be without those two, because they're two experienced players we could do with at the moment.

"But it goes with the long list of injuries and other misfortunes that we're having to deal with this year.

"We've had plenty of opportunities to feel sorry for ourselves this year, but we can't afford to do that any more.

"Now's the time to bring as much energy and as much positivity to a negative situation, and try and make as best of it as we can."
