The Championship side were placed in administration on Wednesday and face a 12-point deduction, though when that sanction will be applied will depend on where Latics finish in the league.

A deal to sell the club from the Hong Kong-based International Entertainment Corporation (IEC) to the Next Leader Fund was only formally completed on June 4.

And Krasner, of insolvency practitioner Begbies Traynor, said the events of the last few weeks must be looked at in time.

When asked if he was concerned about the motives of the people who owned the club, he replied: "No, today I am concerned about saving this football club.

"Next week or the week after I can get around to looking at why have we had to do this.

"That (investigation) won't wait until we've sold the club, that will start when I know that we can finish the season and we've got the non-disclosure letters out.

"So we're talking about a two-week delay to get the most important jobs done and then we sit down with our lawyers and we see if there is any litigation there that will be to the benefit of the creditors."
