Wigan Athletic administrators 'hopeful of bid in next 24 hours'
Interest in a couple of Wigan’s prize junior assets last week was rejected out of hand.
But the administrators have appointed an agent to ‘assist and advise’ them to generate some much-needed funds.

“There was an offer from a major Premier League club last week, but that was turned down immediately.
“We are hopeful we will receive offers in the next 24 hours or so, and we will be keeping our manager (Paul Cook) informed.
“Our agent has indicated there are potential offers from a number of parties for certain players. If we get those offers in I believe that, with the goodwill I’ve got from the EFL and the PFA, sufficient monies will be released to us to enable the balance of the wages to be paid.”

Krasner insists the agents brought in will not be taking money out of the club.
“We’ve used these agents at previous football clubs,” he said. “The email I have from them states they are not charging us for this service.
“Their work is not costing this football club one penny.”
