Wigan Athletic fans invited to 'buy the club back'

But Krasner also says he appreciated the sums of money involved made that difficult.

"The fans have a chance to buy the club back," he said.

"Now I don't think the fans of Wigan could come up with the necessary money.

" But what I have put to (a supporters' representative) is go and find some local businessmen, put a consortium together, and get the fans to put some money in and take a stake in their club and get a director on the board.

"That may stabilise things going forward.

"But it comes down to money I'm afraid, we all love our football clubs but at the end of the day these are businesses now."
