Wigan Athletic now seeing 'the real Jamal Lowe'


The 25-year-old has endured a largely frustrating debut campaign at the DW since following Cook up from Portsmouth last summer.
But he scored his fourth goal of the campaign in Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Huddersfield, with Latics having won a ll four matches in which he’s netted.

Hide AdAnd Cook believes fans are now seeing exactly why he splashed out £2.5million for Lowe’s servives.
“Jamal creates chances all the time, and he scored a great goal at Huddersfield,” enthused the Latics boss.
“And he could have had another at the end, it was never a foul. I was absolutely streaming...I didn’t think it was a foul in any way, shape or form!
“But you can see his confidence is sky high at the moment, and it’s great to see.”

Hide AdCook was at the DW yesterday to watch several players who missed out at the weekend getting valuable match minutes under their belt in a friendly against Fleetwood.
“It’s all about the strength of the squad,” he added. “People forget Gavin Massey and Gary Roberts, and the way they played against West Brom (just before lockdown).
“If you get a group of players who are committed – to each other, not just to themselves – you’ve always got a chance. And I’ve always felt we’ve had that in abundance.”
