Wigan Athletic secure Championship defender

Wigan Athletic are expected to complete the signing of Rotherham defender Curtis Tilt before Friday's transfer deadline.

Boss John Sheridan had been in the market for a left-sided centre-back after Danny Fox turned his back on a contract offer in favour of a move to India.

And the final space in his squad - at least until the club comes out of administration - has been taken by Tilt.

The 29-year-old joined Rotherham from Blackpool in January, but his time in South Yorkshire has been dogged by injury.

He could make his Latics debut on Saturday at Charlton.
