Wigan Athletic skipper Morsy wins red-card appeal
Sam Morsy has avoided a three-match suspension after the Wigan Athletic skipper's controversial red card at Brentford was overturned by the FA.
The Latics leader was given his matching orders just before the hour mark of the 2-0 defeat at Griffin Park after an aerial collision with Yoann Barbet.
However, the decision angered boss Paul Cook, who signalled his intention straight after the game to appeal.
And after viewing all the evidence, the authorities have decided the punishment didn’t fit the ‘crime’ - leaving Morsy free to face Hull City later tonight (Tuesday).
