Wigan Athletic star '˜on the way back'
The big centre-back – on his way to the Premier League and Brighton in January – hasn’t kicked a ball in anger this term after breaking a foot in the final pre-season friendly at Rangers.
But he’s on the verge of putting his hand up for selection, which assistant boss Leam Richardson admits will be a major boost.

“He’s worked so hard behind the scenes on the training ground and with the physios.
“He brings a lot of balance to the team, as we saw pretty much every week last season.
“That prompted the move back to the Premier League, but we’ve got him for a while yet and he’ll be back before long.”
