Wigan Athletic: Live transfer deadline day blog

NOW SEVEN OUT, THREE IN

Now seven out from the squad since end of last season...Masey, Watts, Rea, Bayliss, Jones, McGrath, Humphrys

Three in so far...Nyambe, Broadhead, Fletcher

Pen(s) needed sharpish...over to you, Talal...

Kell Watts is off to Peterborough on loan from Newcastle.

Had been tipped to possibly rejoin Latics on another season-long loan deal.

Won’t be fit for another month yet.

Former Latics midfielder Alex Gilbey has joined Stevenage on loan from Charlton.

West Brom star Adam Reach is reportedly a late target for Latics, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon.

Reach was at the DW in midweek - on the Baggies’ bench in the 1-1 draw.

Reports north of the border suggest Stephen Humphrys is on the verge of joining Hearts on loan.

Latics had four strikers on the bench against West Brom in midweek.

Reinofrcements in other positions still required.

Latics defender Tom Pearce could be allowed to leave, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon.

Came close to joining Barnsley 12 months ago, but signed a new deal only a few months ago.

Hasn’t been featuring in the first team so chance of game-time may appeal.

Would need replacing in the squad though, and already needed to get bodies in.

Former Latics Academy striker on the move

With Nick Chadwick becoming No.2 at Rochdale, might that open a door for Scott Smith to move on loan? The Latics Under-23 skipper would benefit hugely from first-team football in the way Callum Lang has in the past - assuming Leam Richardson feels he has enough optons to be able to spare him. Worth keeping an eye on anyway...
