Join Sir Alex at WYZ golf day
The former Manchester United boss will be joining other sporting legends at the Northwest Celebrity Golf Classic being held at The Mere Golf and Country Club on Tuesday July 5.
As well as top-notch golfing action and entertaining interaction on one of the region’s premier golf courses, hosting the unique sportsman’s dinner will be the Sky Sports anchor Jim White who will host a Q&A with Sir Alex.
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase some memorabilia personally signed by the former Old Trafford chief and personalised to the individual buying it.
However that’s not all, there will also be a Q&A with Latics owner Dave Whelan and entertainment from top comedian Jason Manford.
Other celebrities include actor Russ Abbott and golfing legend Tony Jacklin.
The 18-hole course at the Mere resort is 6,882 yards in total with a par of 71 on 150 acres of Cheshire parkland.
The day includes a demonstration by Geoff Swain, World Trickshot Champion at noon. On-course challenges, floating ball driving range, 18 holes of great golf followed by a Sportsman’s Dinner which includes live entertainment and a comedian.
The event is open to both men and women of all ages and abilities with a table position will allocated on a first come, first served basis.
And with just 15 tables remaining as of yesterday, anyone hoping to attend is advised to book their place sooner rather than later. The cost to take part in the day is £1,000 + VAT per team of four which includes four places at the Sportsman’s Dinner. Additional seats can be purchased for £100 + VAT per person. Sir Alex is a legend of international football and we are proud to have his support in our fundraising.
“The Celebrity Golf Classic event is an important date in our fund-raising calendar, last year’s event brought us over £30,000 which goes towards the running of the Youth Zone, allowing us to continue to offer affordable facilities to the young people of Wigan.”
