Astley & Tyldesley were also in action on the North East coast
Astley & Tyldesley clinched the Manchester League title at Bury on Wednesday. Despite being well beaten on the night by the home team.

A&T's second place on the night was sufficient to finish top of the table, one point ahead of Bury, with Sheffield third and Stockport fourth.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, they raced to a narrow win in round six of the North & Scotland League series at Hull.
John White sealed the win by winning the last race, heat 24. This meant that A&T pipped Sheffield 'A' by a single point, with League leaders Bury a further three points adrift.
Bury retain their lead in the table, but A&T have now cut the gap to half a point, with two rounds remaining.
For A&T, John White and Ed Morton lost only once each to an opponent. A&T's two 15 year olds, Frank White and Oscar Belt, put in tremendous performances that were crucial to the win.
North & Scotland League Round 6 Group A results were: Astley & Tyldesley 67, Sheffield A 66, Bury 63 Fife 40.
A&T scorers: John White 22 (1), Ed Morton 19 (2), Frank White 16, Oscar Belt 10.
