The 16-year-old, who attends the Deanery, has been balancing his GCSEs alongside preparations for the SuperMoto of Nations, which takes place between July 30-31.

His dad Andy states Casey has always had a clear talent for racing.

He said: “He’s been riding since the age of four, and from the off he was a natural.

“He started off on a quad and it didn’t do it for him. It was like he was hungry for something a bit more extreme.

“When we got him a bike, he did about six hours on it and could ride it to its potential. It was a very quick decision to put him on a slightly faster one, as crazy as it sounds.

“We just enjoyed going to tracks and practicing.

“When he was about seven, a man came to me and asked if I had thought about him racing.

“It wasn’t something I was initially interested in, but we took him to a race meeting and got him on the starting grid.

“He won all three races he took part in and came away with the trophy. That was it then, there was no stopping him, and he’s basically progressed through the years.

“He’s always got on bikes that are a lot bigger than he should be capable of riding. He’s taken it all in his stride.

“It was just a dad and lad thing at first. I had a dream that one day he would represent his country, and I’ve put that into him, to inspire him and make him push.

“It scares the living daylights out of me now. I have fear, but it’s his strength.

“He’s gone from strength to strength. He finished sixth in the British last year, and that’s never been known.

“Now he’s been chosen as youth captain to run the youth team for the U21s.

“It’s been hard in the last few months because of his exams, but the school has been really supportive, allowing him time off to train and practice.

“Without their support, I don’t think we would’ve accomplished what we have.”

Andy says he is looking forward to the road trip over to the Mettet- Jules Tacheny Circuit, and states he has plenty of different role to help Casey prepare.

“At home I’m obviously dad, but at the track I’m his trainer, his mechanic, his worst critic,” he added.

“It’s a full on job as well as our home and working life. There’s a lot to fit in. You just have to keep going, it never stops.

“We are doing a GoFundMe page to raise the funds because it doesn’t come cheap. There’s not a lot of money in the Great Britain pot so there is a lot of self funding, but he’s got lots of really big sponsors at the moment.

“Winstanleys MX, which is his home track, also supports us as well.”

Anyone who would like to sponsor Casey ahead of his trip to Belgium should email: [email protected].
