The Grind, which has just been posted to YouTube, is a 17-minute long feature including interviews, training footage and even an appearance in the Wigan Warriors dressing room

It was shot as he prepared for his second UFC fight in London earlier this month, which fell victim to the coronavirus pandemic.

He said: "Propellor Video approached me when I got into the UFC. We did a video before my debut which was well-received, so we decided to do something more in depth.

"I'm happy with how it's come out. And I know a lot of people are missing their sport on TV right now, so hopefully this will help!"

Grundy's fight with top-20 opponent Makwan Amirkhani was axed along with the rest of the UFC London bill at the O2 when the pandemic began wiping out sports events.

Like the rest of the nation, he is on lockdown at home but is keeping himself in shape with regular training sessions with his 15-year-old son, Jack.

"I imagine it's tough for any athlete to be in lockdown," he said. "It's a mental challenge for everyone. I've got some pads and mats, so I'm doing what I can.

"I'm trying to see the positives from this, because I train a lot of mornings and evenings, I don't normally get the chance to spend as much time with my family as I'd like."

Atherton’s Tom Aspinall, who like Grundy fights out of Team Kaobon, was also on the London bill.

"It was the first of the UFC shows to be postponed, so hopefully it's the first to be rescheduled once we can fight again," added Grundy, who made a winning UFC debut in March 2009.
