The Warriors had been preparing to play Catalans Dragons on Saturday in a behind-closed-doors match at Warrington.

But on Tuesday night, the fixture was postponed when three players and a member of their non-playing staff returned positive coronavirus tests.

Wigan, though, quickly discovered they will still play, with Castleford - who were expected to have a weekend off - stepping into fill the void.

Lam said: “We made a pact, regardless of what happens, if games switch, we’ll embrace it - it’s 2020, things change. Accept it and move on.

It doesn’t matter if they changed the opposition today, tomorrow, we’d get by.

“it’s more about the players accepting it and moving on. IOf we dwell on it you send out a negative vibe.

“ Hopefully the result will reflect that.

“It’s difficult to think we’ll get through the whole year without more Covid cases. Realistically it will impact on all clubs.”
