Towering back-rower Kai Pearce Paul is available for selection again after recovering from a knee problem suffered in pre-season.

He is back in full training, and Lam hinted he may get a chance in the Warriors side before the end of the month.

“He might play in the next two or three weeks, we'll see how it unfolds," said the Warriors boss. “It’s good to have him back.”

Pearce-Paul was recruited from London Broncos 18 months ago and made his debut in the young Wigan side beaten 42-0 by St Helens last season.

Prop Ben Flower, now at Leigh, labelled him a “special” talent while assistant coach Matty Peet said in pre-season: “We’ve got some strong back-rowers who Kai is learning from, and we expect him to be putting pressure on them for their spots in the team.

“When he does play, I think everyone will be excited to see him play.”
