Battle of Hastings and Sezer will be a highlight, says Wigan Warriors boss Adrian Lam

Adrian Lam believes the halfback duel between Aidan Sezer and Jackson Hastings is shaping as an intriguing subplot to tomorrow’s clash at Huddersfield.

The Giants took advantage of the marquee player allowance to recruit Sezer from Canberra.

He has made a bright start and is currently third in the votes for the Steve Prescott Man of Steel - the coveted individual award Hastings won last year while at Salford.

“I think it’ll be one of the highlights of the weekend,” said Lam, a former champion halfback himself with Wigan and Sydney Roosters.

“Sezer has fit in really well and found his feet.

“I think both of them will be taking personally.

“When I played I had battles with Sean Long and Paul Deacon and the Paul brothers.

“Knowing the two of them, they’re both competitors and this is a way to really stamp their foot down and let people know who is the most dominant half in the competition so far.”

Wigan will go top of the Super League table if they win by more than three.
