Blake Green signs for his NINTH club

Former Wigan favourite Blake Green has signed for a ninth professional club.

He has left New Zealand Warriors to join Newcastle Knights for the rest of this year.

The 33-year-old halfback has been asked to solve the Knights’ hooker problems and will debut this weekend against Michael Maguire's Wests Tigers.

It will be his seventh club in the Australian competition – an equal record – after also playing for Parramatta, Cronulla, Canterbury, Melbourne, Manly and the Warriors.

He also had four years in England, at first with Hull KR and then Wigan, winning the double in 2013 - including his Grand Final heroics in which he played for most of the game with a badly-swollen eye.
