Challenge Cup draw: Wigan Warriors Women discover their first round opponents

The draw at Wembley, which featured Kai Pearce-Paul picking the teams, saw Kris Ratcliffe’s side placed in group one alongside Featherstone Rovers, Salford Red Devils and Cardiff Demons.
Full fixture details are yet to be confirmed, but the the competition will get underway on April 23 with the first set of games.
The top two teams from each of the four groups will progress to the quarter-finals, which are scheduled to take place on June 18.

Hide AdThis year’s women’s final will form part of a triple-header alongside the conclusion of the men’s competition and the 1895 Cup.
All three showpiece occasions will be held at Wembley on August 12.

Meanwhile, the first round draw has also taken place for the men’s Challenge Cup, with a number of amateur sides from Wigan involved.

Hide AdAshton Bears will make the trip to Aldershot to take on the British Army, while Orrell St James are away to Distington.
Elsewhere, St Pats take on Ince Rose Bridge in a local derby.
