Isa: No risk of complacency

They have made a perfect start to 2017 with five wins from as many matches.

And they will be heavily-fancied to keep that run going against a struggling Huddersfield team at the DW Stadium (kick-off 3pm).

Isa said: “It comes down to attitude, there are too many key players in key positions here, the leaders are there, and we won’t let complacency come into it.

“We want a big game, it’s at home, a Sunday afternoon and there’ll be plenty of families down there too. We want to play well.

“We’ve made a good start but because we have a lot of things to work on, it keeps us down to earth.”

Shaun Wane is without nine frontline players through injury, forcing Isa to cover at left centre.

He has already played second-row and in his preferred position, in the middle, this year.

“I’ve been everywhere, I don’t mind it - as I’ve said before, I’m happy to play anywhere,” the ex-Castleford and Widnes player said.

“I prefer the middle, but the coach asks me to do a job anywhere, I’ll do it.

“But I’m waiting for Oli Gildart to come back and do his magic stuff!

“Until then I’ll do the best I can.”

Today’s fanbase will be swelled by runners from the inaugural Wigan half-marathon, who will be given tickets to the match.

Asked how he would rank if all the Warriors did a half-marathon, Isa replied: “I’d fancy my chances - I think Faz (Liam Farrell) would maybe beat me.”

Coach Shaun Wane nominated Tom Davies as the most likely winner, while Thomas Leuluai said it would be between Davies and Farrell.
