The Aussie halfback, who helped guide Wigan to the league leaders shield tonight, is out of contract at the end of this season.

Asked by Sky Sports about his future after their 19-6 win against Huddersfield, Hastings said: "I've got some deep thinking. I think I know what I want to do, I think I know what my heart is telling me.

"I'll probably Facetime my agent tonight, then my mum, my step dad, the rest of my family and get a gauge on what they think is the best thing for my future, and then hopefully by the start of next week I'll have a decision."

When Hastings was signed by Wigan, the club announced it was a two-year deal but that he had a release clause allowing him to leave for the NRL at the end of this first season.

The Warriors have already signed Parramatta halfback Jai Field for 2021, though the move hasn't been confirmed.

Thomas Leuluai, who is also out of contract, is expected to play on next season. He said he is currently speaking to executive director Kris Radlinski about a deal for next season.
