Having been a Wigan rugby league fan all my life, I’ve witnessed a lot of amazing and wonderful things.

But watching Sean O’Loughlin and the lads taking to the field in shirts bearing the name of ‘Joseph’s Goal’ will be something else.

We set up Joseph’s Goal in 2012 to find a cure for NKH, the rare genetic disorder from which our little boy suffers.

Shortly after he was born, doctors told us Joseph was so poorly, the condition so devastating, he wouldn’t make it out of hospital.

Thankfully, Joseph had other ideas, and next month will turn nine.

His fight, his courage, his determination – against all the odds – is an inspiration to us all, a daily reminder of what can be achieved.

We are so grateful for the Warriors for their support of Joseph’s Goal, and it’s fitting Sean – as a proud ambassador of our charity – will lead the side out in Perpignan.

Hopefully Joseph can inspire the lads to a victory on the field – and the charity will receive a massive boost in terms of profile and awareness off the field.
