The Kiwi halfback has played a key role in their five-game winning streak which has propelled them to joint-top of Super League and secured the World Club Challenge crown.

Many will fancy them to extend that run when they welcome struggling Huddersfield to the DW Stadium on Sunday, for a match being marketed as a ‘family day’.

Leuluai reckons most teams are still finding their feet and senses they will improve as the season unfolds.

But encouragingly, he is convinced they can get even better.

He said: “We’re happy, obviously, with five from five, but I really think there’s a lot of improvement in us.

“There’s still a lot of work to do.

“Don’t get me wrong, we’re happy, but no one is getting carried away.

“We’re not playing our best football but that’s the same for other teams, across the board everyone will be improving and it’s good we’ve got a lot of improving in us, too.

“We need to make sure we improve with everyone else.”

No Wigan players were cited by the RFL’s match review panel following Thursday’s 38-16 win.

Huddersfield’s Sebastine Ikahihifo yesterday received a grade A charge of punching during their 30-0 loss to Leigh, in which he was sinbinned. But he has the option of an early guilty plea, which would mean he avoids a suspension.
