In a change to norm due to current Covid restrictions, Super League said the “traditional” Easter fixtures have been moved back in the season to August 19-22.

The move way made in the hope that “bumper crowds of fans” will be able to cheer on their team from the stands.

Wigan will face Saints at the DW Stadium in round 20, but the date and kick-off time has not been confirmed.

And prop Partington said: “It’s probably the fans that make Good Friday games so special anyway and if this increases the chance of them being there, it’s a good thing.

“It’ll make it just as special as if it was played Good Friday or not.

I don’t know if we play them before then or not but it’ll be a big game, especially after the way it ended last year. We really stepped up against them in the last two games we played them and we’ve got stronger if anything.”
