Sean O’Loughlin insists any silverware that Warriors were to pick up this year would mean every bit as much as any they’ve ever won.

The Super League competition restarted yesterday after a five-month absence, with Warriors back in action next weekend against Wakefield.

There will now follow a hectic schedule of fixtures between now and the end of the campaign to make up for lost time - with the Challenge Cup and play-offs also to be played.

But O’Loughlin says there will be no asterisk in the record books when it comes to remembering who finishes the season with glory.

“I think for the first few games we’ll just be glad to be out there playing again,” he told Wigantoday.

“But as you start to get into it, you get games under your belt, the league table will start to pan out again and starts to become important.

“And that’s when you’ll find that competitiveness will be back as in any normal year.

“At the end of the days, there’s trophies at stake, as in any year, and as a player you want to win trophies.”

“We know the year will be looked back on for all sorts of reasons.

“But if you’re the team that comes out on top at the end of the year, it’ll be as special as in any other season.

“We’ll be counting the medal or the ring as much as any other, that’s for sure!”
