Wigan Warriors boss Adrian Lam still without duo due to Covid-19

At least two of the Wigan players sidelined by coronavirus will be forced to sit out this week’s match as well.

The Warriors had three members of the squad ruled out for last Friday's 18-14 win against Warrington at Headingley after they tested positive for Covid-19.

Adrian Lam will provide an update on his team later today but it is understood due to the government’s guidelines on self-isolation, only one of the sidelined trio may return for their next game – against Catalans this Thursday (kick-off 5.30pm) – if he has recovered.

The remaining two will be forced to sit out the match, and eye a return in the following week’s match against Salford.

On the plus side, props Tony Clubb and George Burgess could come into the frame for Thursday’s behind-closed-doors match.

Clubb has been cleared to return from a neck injury which at one point looked like it may end his season. He hasn’t played since the season resumed.

And fellow front-rower Burgess, a marquee recruit from Souths, has been nursing a hip problem for the last few weeks.
